John Otero – Managing Editor 
John Otero is an industry practitioner with more than 15 years of experience in the insurance industry. He has held various senior management roles both in the insurance companies and insurance brokers during this span of time.
He began his insurance career in 2004 as an office assistant at an agency in her hometown of Duluth, MN. He got licensed as a producer while working at that agency and progressed to serve as an office manager. Working in the agency is how he fell in love with the industry. He saw firsthand the good that insurance consumers experienced by having the proper protection.
John has diverse experience in corporate & consumer insurance services, across a range of vocations. His specialties include Major Corporate risk management and insurance programs, and Financial Lines
He has been instrumental in making his firm as one of the leading organizations in the country in generating sustainable rapid growth of the company while maintaining service excellence to clients.
Charles Bains – Author
Charles Bains started his insurance career as a marketing intern before pounding the pavement as a commercial lines agent in Orlando, FL. He is a National Faculty member for the National Alliance for Insurance Education and Research’s CIC and Certified Insurance Service Representative (CISR) programs.
As an industry journalist, his articles have appeared in a variety of trade publications. His insurance television career, short-lived but glorious, once saw him serve as the expert adviser on an insurance-themed infomercial (yes, you read that correctly).
Charles is a graduate of the University of Central Florida. His first teaching gig was as a golf instructor where he was frequently kicked-off driving ranges for giving free golf lessons. He lives in Tallahassee with his absurdly beautiful wife and daughter.
Sandra Johnson – Author
Sandra Johnson was a few years out of school and took a job as a life insurance agent in California, selling coverage door-to-door for Prudential. The experience taught her about the technical components of insurance and its benefits for individuals and society, as well as the misunderstandings people often have about insurance.
She has over ten years’ experience in the insurance industry, having worked as both a Broker and Underwriter, assisting clients across a broad range of industries. Having recently worked for a Medical Defense Organization, coupled with her broader insurance knowledge, she is able to understand our client’s needs and provide meaningful insurance solutions.
Her personal value proposition is to demonstrate a genuine interest in always adding value for clients and will strive to build long term sustainable relationships through honesty, integrity and trust. She works hard to find the best possible solution available in the market for all clients and is a platinum adviser to multiple insurers.
Sandra loves the outdoors and most sport events. Her passion other than providing excellent advice is playing golf.
Tony Bennett – Author
Tony Benett makes his living in the insurance industry by teaching and consulting. He is also recognized by the legal profession as an expert on insurance coverages. His insurance experience includes having worked at the company level, owned an independent general agency and having worked for an insurance association.
Tony has addressed insurance groups in all 50 states, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands. He has received various certificates and got a Certified Insurance Counselor designation over the past few years.
In addition to teaching, consulting and working with the legal profession, Tony is currently the Education Consultant for Insurance Agents & Brokers. Tony loves the outdoors and most sport events. His passion other than providing excellent advice is playing golf.
